Empowerment for municipal politics

In a program with theoretical content and practical exercises, UA Ruhr students learn more about how municipal politics works.
Whether at municipal level, in the state parliament or as mayors: The proportion of women on city and municipal councils in NRW is just 34.5 percent. The team from the Marie Jahoda Center at Ruhr University Bochum is therefore once again offering the seminar and event program "Misch‘ dich ein – mach Politik vor Ort" (Get involved - do politics locally) for students of the University Alliance Ruhr in 2024. Participation is free of charge.
With theoretical content and practical exercises, participants will learn more about how local politics works and how it is possible to get involved at local level. The focus will be on identifying structural barriers as well as recognizing and overcoming personal hurdles. Over the course of the program, participants apply the knowledge they have acquired in their own practical micro-projects.
Participation is possible
UA Ruhr students between the ages of 18 and 27 can take part in the program. Applications are possible until August 31, 2024. The application form and further information on the program can be found on the project website (only in German).
